The SCARC Foundation's special events are designed to raise funds, friends and awareness.  They are fund raising activities that incorporate business sponsorships, underwriting and partnerships to not only gain financial support, but also to connect area businesses with the mission of the SCARC Foundation and the services and programs of SCARC, Inc. and SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc.  The marketing of special events provides awareness of programs and services for people with developmental disabilities who are living in Sussex County, New Jersey, as well as recognition of our financial supporters.  Each year the SCARC Foundation conducts three major special events along with an Annual Appeal Campaign which seek corporate and individual support.

The Foundation has been able to maintain its personal approach to the community by asking community members to establish teams and asking each member of their team to solicit friends, neighbors, relatives and business associates for donations to your Walk-A-Thon team.  Each team's strength is built not in the number of people on the team, but in the Captain's ability to select people who will raise funds for people with developmental disabilities and have an understanding that they have an overall team goal to achieve.

SCARC Foundation Radiothon (May) - This Event will transition into the Walkathon this year. See the info above for the New and improved Walk-A-Thon. 

Twilight Ball (May) (Now Known as The SCARC Foundation Honors)  This Leadership Awards Event will be held at the beautiful landmark Perona Farms in Andover, New Jersey.  The Keynote Speaker this year will be Judge Andrew P. Napolitano. We will be honoring four exceptional individuals (Ray Cordts, Gary Chiusano, and Robert & Gail Phoebus) who are leaders in the community. The event will also include an exceptional Silent Auction and also a 50/50 drawing.

2010 Pat Romano Sr. Memorial Golf Invitational Wednesday September 22nd, 2010 

Pat Romano, Sr. Memorial Golf Invitational (September) - is a golf event named in memory Pat Romano, Sr., the former President of Ronetco Supermarkets, Inc. and founder of the golf invitational, which he began back in 1977.  It is a wonderful way not only to enjoy a great game of golf, but also help fund programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities.  The event features a four-person scramble format with hole-in-one prizes on all par-three holes, as well as breakfast, lunch and an awards dinner.  

 How special events benefit the SCARC Foundation:

• Generate significant program and operation funds.
• Bring visibility to and awareness of the programs and services of SCARC, Inc. and SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. for people with developmental disabilties who live in Sussex County, New Jersey.
• Produce new friends, volunteers and potential donors not otherwise connected to the SCARC Foundation, Inc.
• Provide a chance for great fun while raising funds for a great cause.

• Provides a chance for networking among potential customers.
• Link your business with the wonderful programs and services for people with developmental disabilities.
• Provides marketing opportunities for your business with the SCARC Foundation's donor family as well as the community at large.
• An opportunity for you and your employees to have fun while giving back to the community in which you live and/or work.

People often ask us, "Doesn't it break your heart to hear the stories of the families who have been affected by a child with developmental disabilities?"  These stories are always heart-wrenching, but the opportunity to help at this time when help is really needed is a joy, a privilege and a BIG responsibility.  The children, adults and families served by SCARC, Inc. and SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. are facing issues that require united efforts of many people to resolve.

 Business/Organizations

Groups of all sizes are needed to volunteer their time and expertise for the SCARC Foundation, Inc.  We welcome you and your employees to form a yearly team to help raise funds for the Radiothon or volunteer as a hole-in-one watcher at our Golf Invitational.

We welcome individuals who are 21 years of age or older to participate in a variety of ways to support the SCARC Foundation's Mission.  No matter what your interest or area of expertise is, the SCARC Foundation can use your support!
