Vollmer Endowment Fund

A Quiet...Humble Family Man

Bill Vollmer was a quiet family man, married to his high school sweetheart, Mae, for fifty-four years when he passed away in 1997. The father of two daughters, Mrs. Carol Linsenmann and Mrs. Susan Romano, he was also the grandfather to Kimberly Linsenmann and Kevin Romano. When Susan married Pat Romano, Sr., Bill became step-grandfather to Pat's five children and still later, great step-grandfather to their six children.

Bill was humble and always there to lend a hand, whether someone needed help cutting the fields, fixing fences or tending to general barn duties. He had a passion for the New York Giants, the New York Yankees, his Lionel Trains.....and his family.

His family decided to honor Bill's memory and his kindness towards everyone he had encountered during his lifetime by establishing the Wilburt F. Vollmer Endowment Fund, which represents Bill's commitment to help foster those in the community who needed help, had no family to turn to or hear words of encouragement from someone regarding their everyday achievements in life.

The principle of this endowment will never be invaded, however the interest generated from the Wilburt F. Vollmer Endowment Fund will be utilized for the programs and services provided by SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc.

SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. provides guardianship services to people living in Sussex County. When a child turns 18 years of age, he is automatically considered a competent adult in the eyes of the law. Guardianship is a legal proceeding that designates a parent, relative, friend or organization to act on behalf of an individual who has developmental disabilities who is unable to manage his or her personal and/or financial affairs without assistance. SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. has a unique program in which parents learn to file the legal papers on their own, thus reducing the costs.
